Bombay ducks are one of my favoutite fish..fresh or dry they are great either way.
Last time before returning to UK, my mum packed a large plastic container (bottle) of these dried bombay ducks which I treasure :). I occationally prepare them this way or sometimes stuff them with goan reshad masala. I don't get to make them very often because J doesn't fancy dried fish :(
7 dry bombay ducks-
red chilli powder
turmeric powder
pepper powder
garam masala
ginger garlic paste
vinegar salt
clean the bombay ducks , remove fins and heads.lightly clean in cold water.
Mix all the other ingredients well with the vinegar .do not add any water . Mix the bombay ducks with this mixture and marinate for one hour. Shallow fry the bombay ducks till crispy..
If there is any marinade left than add to the pan and simmer along with the bombay ducks..
