Mackeral Cutlets

Me and my brother love these cutlets ..They are so delicious..They can be served as appetisers or as a side dish.i remember whenver they were made at home we just stuffed them in between bread with onion and tomato rings with some sauce and relished them...yummmmm
Few days ago we had some guests (T) was one of them and I had made these cute looking cutlets...They were an instant hit and disappeared in no time...T and her daughter (A) loved them ...A asked me what they were and I told her they were fish cutlets.. She asked me "shouldn't cutlets be round?" I usually give the cutlets oval shapes ...
I had promised to send her some cutlets the next time I make them...
A few weeks later I had some fish sitting in the freezer so decided to make them . As I was making them for A, I thought of making round cutlets:)
Just try it, u will love them... here's the recipe...

4 small mackerals
4-5 cloves of garlic
1/2 inch piece of ginger
1 1/2 tspn turmeric powder
salt
water
Boil the mackerals with all the above mentioned ingredients.Let it cool for sometime and shred the mackerals and keep aside...

2 green chillies- finely chopped
1 large onion - finely chopped
1/2 tspn - ginger garlic paste
chilli powder
turmeric powder
pepper powder
cumin powder
lemon juice, tomato ketchup, chilli sauce
2 slices of bread
Coriander leaves - finely chopped
salt to taste
Semolina to coat the cutlets

Take the shredded mackerals in a bowl and mix all the remaining ingredients . Slightly soak the bread slices in some water and squeeze all the excess water and add to the mixture..Mix very well using hand.Give desired shape, roll in semolina and shallow fry the cutlets...Lovely cutlets ready to be eaten....

I thought it was some moderator comment again. Thank god! I cannot reply, what to do? Sorry, I must be really irritating on a happy day like this.

  4. Hi Fiona, (nice name, are you the sweetheart of Shrek??? hehhehehe

your cutlets looks so yummm, the oval shape has an effect indeed, changes the usual round shapes! no wonder they disappeared so fast...

I do with Tuna and the use of semolina for coating is an excellent idea too (I use bread crumbs )!
