Beans Foogath


1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1-2 dry red chillies
few curry leaves
250 grms green beans- cut french style
1 medium onion -chopped
1 green chilli-slit
2 tbspn fresh grated coconut
salt to taste

Method:- heat oil in a vessel, splutter the mustard seeds ,than add cumin seeds , curry leaves, red chilli.Than add the chopped onion and green chilli, fry till onions are soft than add the green beans and salt , mix well, do not add any water . cover the vessel , put some water on the lid and let the veg cook in the steam ..on low flame .stir in between .The beans should have a crunch .... when cooked add the coconut and mix ... switch off the gas...

  1. Yummy yummy! I love that, try without onion this time. Normally we dont use onions in any beans recipe. Still, there is nothing harm in trying, right? Wat say?
